DIY No Sew Shopping Bag

When our Blog with Friends group was trying to decide what topic to use for April, we threw around a few ideas. We finally settled on Earth Day, and I was super excited to do something that would let me upcycle or recycle items in the house. I love being challenged a little by projects.
I asked Miss Sassy Pants for her input, and she declared: Let’s make the shopping bags we made in Girl Scouts. Done.
We present you with the ever easy DIY No Sew Shopping Bag:
For this project, you need:
Old T-shirts (the number depends on how many bags you want)
Scissors
That’s it! How much more simple could it get?
First, cut the collar and sleeves off the t-shirt.

Then, cut 1 inch wide (you can eye it) strips at the bottom of the shirt. You’re sort of making a fringe. They should be between 2 and 3 inch long cuts.

Next, tie the front and back fringe pieces together for each matching fringe.

And voila! You have a shopping bag for the next time you’re getting groceries. You don’t need the plastic baggies when you have a slew of t-shirt bags!

How easy is that!? So easy a 10 year old can do it without the help of her mom.
Now, be sure to check out the projects from my buddies. And be sure to link up your Earth Day themed project below!

Karen from Baking in a Tornado not only provides the recipe for this beautiful treat but also talks about the frustration she found in deciding how to make something edible that applied to Earth Day. I love Karen’s blog because she always finds a way to apply food to whatever story she’s telling.
