myBrainshark: Teacher Tool

Even though I teach online, I know there are many ways to use Web 2.0 tools in the face-to-face (f2f) classroom. It hasn’t been that long since I was a f2f teacher and finding new and fun ways to get my students to produce material for assessments and projects.
When I went out for maternity leave for the Animal, my classes were still in full force. They were creating presentations, and I needed to be able to look at them and grade them. Now, I could have had the students email me the attachment. Or, I could have had over sixty flash drives sent home to me. Instead, I used an awesome tool that my husband actually discovered (he can be handy sometimes) and shared with me. It’s called, myBrainshark.

With myBrainshark, users can upload Powerpoints, videos, documents, Podcasts and more. Then, these can be easily embedded or shared out with those who need to see them.

I taught my students how to use myBrainshark by creating a tutorial video for them. Then, they practiced with a fake presentation so they’d be used to the process. (I gave them feedback on these fake presentations, and they were really funny. It was a great way for them to be silly but work at the same time.)
Here is an example of a presentation I’ve made about PERSUASION. Feel free to check it out!

When it was time to turn in their REAL presentations, I received emails with links instead of emails with items to download. MUCH easier!
How could you see myBrainshark used in your classroom?
